Terms of Use

By using SallaPati you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. What the service is
SallaPati is a free app that lets volunteers map street animals together. You can mark an animal, post feeding, petting or condition updates while standing next to it, and follow the animals you care about.
2. Your account
You need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping that account and your sign-in secure.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete my account.
3. Age
You must be at least 13 to use the app. If you are under 18, use it with your parent's or guardian's knowledge.
4. What you may post
You are responsible for the photos and text you post. Do not post:
- Photos that are not yours to use
- Images that identify other people — faces, home addresses, number plates
- Insults, threats, hate speech or harassment
- Fabricated animal records, or content created to farm points
- Content showing or encouraging harm to an animal
We may remove content that breaks these rules and, where necessary, suspend the account behind it.
5. Your content
You keep the rights to the photos you upload. So that the app can work, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-transferable licence to display that content to other volunteers inside the app. The licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
6. Points
Points are an in-app motivator and nothing more. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for anything, and cannot be transferred.
Points are calculated on the server and are subject to these rules:
- An update earns points only when posted within 100 metres of the animal
- A request is refused if the location reading is too imprecise or comes from a
mock location provider
- There is a cooldown per animal per update type; an update inside that window
is still recorded but earns nothing
- A daily points ceiling applies
Deliberately gaming the system — mock locations, fabricated records, automated requests — is grounds for suspension, and points earned that way may be removed.
7. Location and privacy
The app uses your location only while you are adding an animal or posting an update. It does not track you in the background.
The markers you see are approximate positions. The real coordinate recorded at the time is deliberately displaced before it is stored, so that a marker does not reveal where the volunteer who created it was standing.

8. Limits of our responsibility
SallaPati is not an animal rescue, veterinary or emergency service. The information in it is entered by volunteers, and its accuracy, currency and completeness are not guaranteed.
If you find an injured animal or one in danger, do not rely on this app. Contact your municipality's veterinary affairs department or a veterinarian.
The service is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from its use.
9. Your own safety
You are responsible for your own safety when approaching an animal. Mind traffic, the behaviour of animals you do not know, and where you are going. Do not take a risk to earn points.
10. Changes
When these terms change, the version is updated and the app asks you to accept the new one.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
